RangeReady: A Simple App to Track Your Inventory, Practice, and Maintenance

RangeReady app screens

RangeReady started as a small personal project and grew into an app for firearms owners who want a simple, practical way to stay organized. It focuses on three things that matter most at the range and at home: inventory, practice, and maintenance.

Inventory

For inventory, adding items is quick — just a few fields for ammo or firearms. Once they're in, the app automatically updates your ammo count and firearm round totals every time you log a practice session.

Practice

For practice, you record which firearm and ammo you used, how many rounds you fired, and everything updates instantly. There's also dry fire logging, and a gamified dry fire habit tracker is in development. The drill library is small right now (13 drills), but it will continue to grow over time.

Maintenance

For maintenance, each firearm can have a schedule assigned. Some manufacturer recommendations are already included, so things like recoil spring replacements don't sneak up on you.

Privacy

Privacy was important from the start — no account is required. Everything stays local unless you choose to back it up to the cloud. You can also export your data to CSV, HTML, or PDF for your own records.

Why I Built It

I got into firearms in late 2023. After shooting regularly, my P365 X-Macro started having failures every 50 rounds. After contacting the manufacturer, I learned the recoil spring should be replaced every 2,500 rounds — something I hadn't been tracking at all. I tried spreadsheets, but they were frustrating to use on mobile and easy to fall behind on. So I built this instead.

RangeReady is available on iOS and macOS, and I'm continuing to improve it based on real-world use and feedback.

Thanks for checking it out — and for caring about responsible, intentional firearm ownership.
